The Company

Our client is a boutique IT Security & Compliance Financial Services specialist founded in 2002 for small and medium sized companies. They protect finance companies from ever-increasing security threats and regulatory shifts and leverage the power of technology to drive business success. With 25 years of experience working as CIO’s, COO’s, and CISO’s in the financial service industry locally and in Europe, our client knows the issues and needs of this industry and are experts at not only meeting them but anticipating future requirements.

Due to growth, we are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their growing team based in George Street, Sydney.

 

The Role

The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting the end user computing environment, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals. This role is also responsible for managing and supporting cloud systems and applications provided to end users for productivity, security, or compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level end user support to PCs and Macs including Line of Business Applications and peripheral support via phone, email, on site and remote support tools
  • Provide system administration and support of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune
  • Ensure all devices are patched for vulnerabilities and meet all compliance requirements
  • Monitor and manage security and system alerts from SIEM and action and escalate as required
  • Consult with vendors and other third parties to arrange repair of faulty equipment or restoration of service
  • Log, action and resolve service requests via ConnectWise PSA so that the client and other technicians can understand or assist
  • Ensure response and resolution targets are met while owning the issue and escalating appropriately
  • Adhere to change control, compliance, operational and security procedures
  • Perform desktop and laptop builds with SOE using deployment tools and Intune
  • Provide end user training for new starters and system upgrades (e.g. hardware, Microsoft 365 productivity or security applications)
  • Assist with client security and compliance audits and systems to align to the company and clients with industry best practise
  • Undertake project work and be responsible for timely and accurate delivery
  • Create and maintain system and application documentation
  • This role requires some onsite presence at client sites

 

Skills and Experience

  • 3 years working in an MSP/MSSP
  • Certifications in Microsoft Products (MS-100, AZ-104), ConnectWise, Sophos
  • Experience working in highly IT compliant organisations using frameworks such as ITIL and ISO27001
  • A desire to be challenged whilst working with the latest technology to deliver exceptional outcomes
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Proven experience delivering outstanding customer service to all levels of end users
  • Impeccable communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence in front of all levels of client staff
  • A strong work ethic, a passion for information technology and a drive to continuously learn
  • Commitment to delivering the right solution the first time within specified time limits
  • Strong responsibility and accountability with the ability to manage multiple tasks to challenging deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively with staff whether on site or remote
